Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹21,000 is deposited in the name of the girl child. This amount can be withdrawn only after the girl attains the age of 18 years. In addition, if a second girl child is born in the family, the government provides ₹5,000 per year for five years as additional support.

Who Can Avail the Benefits?

Scheduled Caste (SC) and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families
For BPL families, ₹21,000 is deposited for the first girl child through LIC.
For other eligible categories, the benefit is given on the birth of the second girl child.
The deposited amount can only be claimed when the girl turns 18 years old. For the second girl child, ₹5,000 per year is provided for five consecutive years.
